I won’t be there for Sunday school this Sunday, however some ladies may be meeting in our room for prayer.
We are living in such an unusual time, and sometimes we just need to BREATHE and remember that Jesus HAS GOT US , join hands and remember that we are NOT ALONE, no matter life looks like or feels like.
Matthew 4:35 says, “That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”
The other side.
God promised it that night, yet the storm came like a big bully calling out, “Do you think God is bigger than me?”
And the disciples shook.
And some even were anxious and afraid.
Looking down at Jesus, asleep on the boat they saw was sinking, they cried out in fear, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
Drowning…it’s what happens when you go under and under and under until the water fills your lungs, leaving no room for air…no more air, no more Breathing.
Sometimes it feels as if we are STUCK, in the in between, we have left the shores of surety with Jesus and headed out aiming for the “other side.”
Yet the storm comes, and we feel betrayed that we left, that we trusted this boat to get us to the other side, the boat that Jesus is so peacefully sleeping in right now.
“Master, don’t you care that we are drowning?”
“Quiet! Be still!,” He says to the waves.
The waves listen and obey.
As a new wave engulfs us, “Who is this who even the wind and waves obey?”
“Why are you so afraid? O you of little faith?”
‘Do you think the storm is bigger than Me? Do you think the waves of this world can take you out of My hands? Stop trusting in solid ground, or in boats to carry you. I AM HOLDING YOU. I AM the One taking you to the other side. I AM your Way, Believe Me, Trust Me, Stand in Me….We will arrive at the other side together.
Why do we let ourselves drown in our own fears?
Why do we gulp down what the enemy is tossing up for us to swallow more and more, until there is NO MORE ROOM TO BREATHE in our Breath of Life?
We choose to drown in our own storms instead of trusting in and resting beside the One Who is resting safely over ALL our storms.
He sleeps because He can.
He knows who He is and that the storm has no power over Him.
We can only rest once we agree with Him instead of our storm.
In the midst of our journey to the “other side”, He offers us Himself, Who IS our “other side”
Be still, storm, know that He is God!
I am at rest.
I can see my horizon in HIS eyes.
Okay, now here is last weeks lesson.
Love you, my beautiful sisters!
