We are faced with a choice, will we stay awake and stay sensitive to God’s still, small Voice during this time in History? Or, like Jonah who slept in the hull of the boat while it was being torn apart during a great storm, or like Peter and the sons of Zebedee, who Jesus asked to , “Stay awake and watch with Me,” will we be lulled to sleep by our fleshly desire to escape from the reality of all that’s happening right now?
Jesus would encourage us to, “stay awake and watch with Me.”
He spoke about this need to stay awake and prepared in His parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins in Matthew 25.
There is a time coming soon when the bridegroom will come and, “those who are ready went in with Him and the door was shut.” Matthew 25:10
How we respond to this time tells the LORD all He needs to know about whether or not we truly “know”(see Matthew 25:12) Him.
We are strongly encourages to. “Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day not the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” Matthew 25:13
