Introducing Perfect Mess

Does Perfect exist in this messy world?  It can when we shift our search from perfection to Perfect Love, and here is where we discover how.  Through a weekly blog, vblog, and interactive bible studies, we will journey from perfect mess to perfectly loved.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

1 John 1:7 (ESV)

"When man wants to inhabit a place, he builds a home
When God wants to inhabit a place, He builds a man."

This is a quote from our lesson tomorrow in Perfect Mess. We will begin a new series that is called, HIS, and is based on understanding God as our Father.

For those of you participating on-line, we will have some discussion questions which I will post with the video tomorrow.

I also have written homework, just like we did for Beloved Bride, which I can email to you or I will have copies next week for those who are coming in person.

Please Private Message me your email if you wish to receive the bible study.

Happy Feast of TRUMPETS! Time to prepare our hearts for coming home fully into our Father's eternal love.

Love you, my beautiful sisters!

Good reminder!

This weekend marks the beginning of the feast of trumpets, a celebration that many Hebrews have associated with the return of Messiah.

It also is a time of great repentance and preparation for meeting Him face to face.

We, as Christians, look forward to Christ's return for us and are wise to be very mindful that He could appear to receive us at any moment.

It is never too late to examine our hearts and make sure that we are ready for His appearance.

As Matthew 7:21 points out, not everyone who professes Christ will enter His kingdom, but only those who do His will.

As we can see in the church today, there are many who are not doing His will. I fear they will not come home with us at His appearance and may have to endure His wrath because they failed to truly believe Him.

Or, I guess another way to say it is that I fear many are striving to do what they perceive to be His will instead of what truly is His will.

He will not dwell in temples made with human hands and much of the church has done much damage trying to lead from human strategy instead of simply trusting God and letting Him extend His arms through His found children to His lost ones.

Forgive us, LORD.

What is His will?

" For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day." John 6:40

What is harder to do something or to believe something, and live like you actually believe it?

If the whole professing church truly believed God and lived in such a way that the world was convinced that we believe, much more of the world would believe too.

The fact that so our world is so lost leads me to wonder if many who profess Christ are actually truly lost.

My prayer is that many will spend this time, just before His coming, searching hearts and preparing. I pray that many more will arise and shine with us at that blessed moment when He returns to take us home.

Let us repent and truly come home.

This scripture has been on my heart lately. Sometimes we are waiting to grow up in Christ, when often He may be waiting for us to grow down, and acknowledge ourselves as His children who know nothing more than to trust their Father's heart for them.

The difference between an adult and a child is that a child is still under the care and responsibility of their father. They are in the season of life where the ultimate responsibility for their lives is carried on their father's shoulders. A father's name and legacy is bound up in the lives of his children.

In the bible, God over and over again refers to us as His children. He never calls us to grow up into self sufficient human beings, but to stay children whose being is forever dependent on our Father's love for us, and provision for our lives. He willingly allowed His name and reputation to be bound up with ours.

The degree to which we understand Whose we are will determine the degree to which we truly apprehend who we are.

As children of God, we are free to REST in our Father's care, knowing He IS faithfully caring for us. He is doing all the heavy lifting on our part and we are free to enjoy our journey here on earth living close to the heart of our Father.

I love you so very much, my beautiful Soil Sistas!

May we continue to stay rooted and grounded in Christ's love, NO MATTER WHAT!

It hurts to lose our outer shell and it hurts to be pruned, yet we are headed home where every slight and momentary affliction we have faced or will face will pale in comparison to the GLORY that surrounds us.

WE ARE NOT BURIED, WE ARE PLANTED!

Could it be that we are living in the midst of two very different realities being played out before us?

And, could it be that what we see and experience are a result of who we are, not necessarily our circumstances surrounding us?

For those in Christ, all we see is Christ, and even the pain, the uncertainty, the loss, and confusion make us more aware of Him to whom we love most.

This is our blessing, holding fast to Him who IS our life.

Like a tree, we have broken through the dark soil and know nothing more than to keep reaching for the light, while drinking the water that He provides in His sovereignty.

As we reach higher, we expand upward and outward, causing fruit to burst through our branches without any effort on our part.

This is our payment for belonging to the Living God. We get to be alive in Him here on earth as we become living displays of His splendor.

The world looks to physical payment, for horizontal reach, not realizing nothing true, real or lasting abides in the horizontal.

Those who do not know God are paid with everlasting thirst for they constantly reach for that which can never satisfy, all the while resenting those who are satisfied.

That is their curse, and even their thirst is a display of God's mercy for it ever points them to the One Who came to quench it.

There are two realities happening all around us every moment and we are granted the freedom to choose which will be ours.

Only one leads to life and blessing.

Lord, help us choose You. Amen

" This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life.." Duet.30:19-20

I have a card taped to my bathroom mirror that shows a cattipillar staring up at a butterfly in flight saying, "you will never catch me up in one of those."

We stay so earthbound yet, all the while God is calling us higher, and using things of dust to do it.

Even now, do we not feel the tightening of earth's cocoon around us? The constraining, the pushing and the pulling, causing what was once solid in us to melt into a malleable substance, a clay that God can use to fashion us into His own heavenly creation.

While we strive and strain to maintain some semblance of the form we had spent our whole lives building, He is using each one of our movements to bind us into a cocoon of His design.

We resist. Yet He even uses our resistance as part of His building process.

The caterpillar will become the butterfly.

It is the work of His hands that ordains it.

We will feel more unfamiliar to ourselves than we have ever been, all the while becoming something altogether new.

We will surely succumb to His building process.

The cocoon that constrains us will ultimately become the womb that is re-creating us.

And in His perfect timing, we will emerge and gaze in awe at His handiwork.

Most of us say, "I must overcome my sin nature."
It is absurd to think we can ever accomplish that which it cost our LORD'S life to accomplish.

We cannot overcome sin.

However, we can rest in the One Who already overcame and in so doing, we will find that His victory is ours.

A newborn child's first and only assignment is to fully respond to that one from whose body he or she was just taken.

We were taken out of the side of Christ. And our lives now are lived in ever increasing dependence upon the One from whom we were first born..

There is never a moment when we grow independent of Him, but there are millions of tiny moments when our old nature butts up against the new Life in us, and we must decide to whom we belong.

Only in Christ do we get to stay children forever.
Our identity is that of a child of God, rested in knowing the One from Whom their lives have sprung.

The fleshly life adheres to a horizontal goal, with eyes ever stretching forward, looking for victories here on earth.

The Spirit life is ever looking upward, and like trees with ever widening circles, we expand as we reach upward and we are widened in the Life that we are ever reaching up towards.

I find it no coincidence that our LORD died on a tree. His life poured out here in the horizontal to release all who are willing to join Him in the vertical.

We are born into a wilderness, with no real idea of where we are going. Yet we try anyway, building castles out of sand, playing these games with ourselves, " I won't kick yours over if you don't kick mine."

Yet, as we struggle and strain, we hear a voice that calls out to us, "come follow Me, I hold the pattern to who you truly are."

The struggle commences.
Am I willing to leave to leave the security of the fragile known to head towards the possibility of solidarity in the unknown?

It's so much easier to continue protecting sandcastles.

Yet, His Voice calls and the longer we hear it, the more we somehow feel the rushing within us, that knows there is more, that believes we are more.

And suddenly our senses are overwhelmed by the adventure that unfolds in His Voice, and we awaken to who we really are, and who He's always known us to be yet we've been too afraid to acknowledge.

And unstand at once that we truly are children of God.

The adventure begins.

We will tread unknown waters
We part endless seas
We will lose ourselves in this adventure
And be fully found in Thee.

A new wave comes and my instinct is to begin clamping down on all that's precious around me and holding on for dear life. Only to end up exhausted and unprepared to handle the next wave coming towards me.

I am tired of the waves.

And humbled by all the ways they leave me so vulnerable and exposed.

I find myself thinking of Paul, as he held on to anything that could keep him afloat after the ship wrecked on his way to Rome.

He knew God had a plan, he never faltered in trusting that God's plan would prevail, no matter what hindered.

Each new wave rising up against me seems to illicit a wrestling match within my soul, a match between trusting myself or trusting God.

Even though I know Who will always win, my heart breaks at my own resistance.

How can I still be so restless in His hands?

Rest comes when I, once again, hold up my white flag and give Him the only thing any of us ever can, my faith.

"I trust You, Jesus"

Suddenly the sea within me is calm.

And although the ocean around me roars, I know I am safe.

Jesus, thank You for all the waves, the shaking, the wrestling matches You entrust in our lives. You, Alone, know what needs to be washed away from us so that we might stand in solidarity with You. Amen.

I have noticed a phenomenon happening around me lately, branches, even large ones falling to the ground.

Some of them, so large that they had many smaller branches sprouting off them.

I caught myself paying attention before I walk out my door as not to be pummeled by one of them.

I recently looked up and noticed that the branches falling were those who were not reaching the top, perhaps they were draining the resources from those who were.

It made me think of this verse,

"He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." John 15:2

I find it fascinating how God even allows nature to confirm what He is doing in His children.

We are going through a time when we cannot tolerate those low lying branches anymore, the ones that are only interested in reaching horizontal instead of the vertical.

We simply don't have the strength to. We need the strength of the Vertical, we need Christ's strength and we feel it.

It's never fun to be pruned, yet as I look up and notice even my trees witnessing around me about what God is doing, I can't help but find such beautify in it all

Anything that helps us see Jesus more is beautiful.

He knows when those vertical branches are robbing our strength to reach for Him in the vertical.

He is such a faithful Gardener.

To be sin aware keeps me aware of myself.

To be holy, I must stay aware of Christ.

I wrote a whole Bible study on sheep and have studied them extensively.

They are completely defenseless creatures, except their propensity to stick together as one flock when danger is near.

When the wolves come, their aim is to cause the sheep to scatter from one another so that they are easier to pick off.

Jesus is coming SOON, and the enemy is using the same strategy as the wolf. He seeks to divide us and cause us to leave the security that our Good Shepherd provides, and to scatter and scoot from those around us.

Don't you see it?

Open your eyes.

Whose voice is louder in your heart? The Shepherd's or the those who would divide us from the Shepherd and one another?

How sad it would be for those who have been running so well for so long to forfeit the race here at the last mile.

Please search your heart.

We would be wise to pay attention to this old Sunday school song that seems meant for this, our last and darkest hour.

"Be careful little eyes what you see.
Be careful little eyes what you see.
For our Father up above is looking down with Love.
So be careful little eyes what you see."

Soon, very soon, we will stand before Him and all that looks so real right now will suddenly all seem like a dream.

Let us remember what is TRULY REAL, even as we wait to made TRULY WHOLE at His appearing.

Remember that, "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12

Our brothers are not our enemies. The enemy is our emeny and we are wise to search our own hearts and evacuate any place in us that has allowed him any room.

Pray, from God's Word, with His heart.

The only way a lamb can stand victoriously against a wolf as it sticks close to the Shepherd.

Jesus, forgive us for letting the threats of darkness around us drive us away from You and one another. Forgive us for wanting to be right more than to be Righteous. Please give is eyes to SEE who the real enemy is, and guard us in Your Love. Amen.

Now that we are so seeing the world unravel around us, it is becoming very popular to speculate about when the LORD's return is.

However, Jesus never told us to KNOW, He told us to GO, and share the good news about His coming to save us.

If I truly believed I would stand before my King and Master any moment now, I might be busy about what He has clearly said to do, as opposed to when He is returning.

Sometimes I think we use His soon return as an excuse to stay behind our doors, when clearly Jesus instructed us to exit our doors and get busy being about our Father's business.

Did He free us from sin? Yes.

Did He send His promised Holy Spirit? Yes.

Did He tell us clearly what to do? Yes.

Are we doing it?

Let us examine our own hearts now and come back to the simplicity of exactly what our LORD has called us to.

What are ways we can share the gospel during this time?

There was a point when Christ had to set His face towards Jerusalem, and become, what must have looked to His followers as the greatest contradiction to Who they had believed Him to be.

The One they saw transfigured on the mountain became the One crucified on a mountain.

It is sobering when the Jesus we had hoped Him to be looks completely different from who He truly is.

God on a Cross is the greatest contradiction the universe ever has or will experience.

"And I, if be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." John 12:32

Like an arrow making a direct hit to it's intended target, Jesus, lands us all in a place we've never been as we behold Him on the Cross.

He hung like a Door, inviting anyone who might walk through, to come home to who we were made to be, the people of God, each His unique, intimate expression of glory.

The testing comes and it is sobering when what we hoped would be a mountain of transfiguration instead becomes a mountain of crucifixion. When who we thought we were to be in Him turns out completely different from who He actually calls us to become.

Yet, only as we walk through the Cross do we find that we get to become the ones transfigured. We get to be walking contradictions in this world of darkness as we express His unimaginable Light.

"Because of the LORD'S great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

This is not the picture I was expecting to see of our neighborhood after Laura passed through.
But as I sit here pleasantly underwhelmed, I know there are those who are waking up to unimaginable loss.

Does this mean that the LORD had compassion on us and not them?

No.

Sometimes God's compassion is displayed by moving our storms, and sometimes it is displayed through our storms.

We were not so fortunate just three years ago when Harvey hit, and then again Imelda, just over a year later.

And as hard as it is when a storm comes and removes everything you had your security wrapped up in, we would be lying if we said we did not witness His faithfulness, and His compassion. We would be lying if we said the whole experience made us less faithful and compassionate human beings.

Sometimes the most beautiful things God does in our lives spring from our most broken moments, the moments He allows everything but Him to be consumed so that we can discover that, in Him, we are never

This picture was taken of our city, Houston, during hurricane Harvey just three years ago this month.
Our whole city was under water, and although it was terrifying and heartbreaking, there was something else happening that was beautiful.

The walls that seem to so easily erect when we settle into our nice, comfy, safety bubbles came crashing down. It was as if everyone was given a sudden call to action.

Those who flooded were forced out as those who did not flood were forced in. People who never would have talked before were suddenly risking life and limb to save one another, each of us knowing, "this could be me, this could be my child."

I find it ironic that we have another hurricane (or two) headed our way right now.

To me, it feels like a sudden re-test over lessons we seem to have forgotten so quickly.

As I thought about what we will be possibly facing this week, this scripture came to mind.

"Behold, I am doing a new thing: now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19

How quickly our once open and generous hearts seemed to have become deserts. Hearts that, without thinking, began responding to the Way just three years ago, have so quickly become a wilderness.

Like any good parent, our Father knows when to do a, "new thing," in hopes that our hearts will once again, "perceive it."

He comes and offers us a Wellsprings of Living Water on dry, hard, and barren ground. He makes stony places into highways of His Living Presence (see Isaiah 40).

I have seen who we are capable of becoming in this city, both for good and bad. How I pray that this time, we allow ourselves to see who He is capable of becoming in us, and we pass the test once and for all.

We have seen the futility of our love, it's time to witness the strength of His.

Jesus, thank You for re-tests. Thank-You for turning our hard hearts into Your highways of holiness, help us let You come in, and flood through us. Amen

It's time to come out of hiding, we are safe in our Father's love to embrace our WHOLE story, even those parts we've buried deep inside for so long.
It's time to stop believing God only loves the good parts of us. He died for ALL of us, ALL of who we each individually are.
Whether you've had an abortion or not, each of us has been affected. For every man or woman who has allowed the shame of their past to keep them from releasing their whole hearts to Christ in the present is hindering us all from seeing Him fully.
What one person does in the darkness affects ALL of us in the Light.

So many of us spend our lives trying to Be Someone, not realizing that we are already Someone in our LORD'S eyes.

Inside we know we are a pauper, and spend so much time and energy trying to convince ourselves and others we are not, never realizing that the pauper is exactly who Jesus came for.

There is a beautiful exchange that takes place when we finally acknowledge the truth about ourselves, that we are completely bankrupt in every direction, a complete perfect mess in Christ's sight.

The moment we arrive here, we see the truth about Christ, that He truly has already overflowed onto and into every area surrounding us, and within us. He truly is Who He always has claimed to be, an ever present wellspring of Living Water.

And because of this, we are free to arrive in Him, even in our, "perfect mess," state. And at once we will SEE and FULLY acknowledge the One Who made Himself a Perfect Mess in order to secure our place in Him.

One who is still trying to pay her way displays her unbelief in the One Who already paid it all.

Only paupers receive the blessings of truly SEEING Christ as He is, for we are no longer afraid to SEE ourselves in His light, and know that we have absolutely nothing to offer Him save our need for Him.

It's ironic that we often come to Christ still believing that the rest He offers must deal in our circumstances, while all the while, God may be engineering our circumstances to highlight those places in us that are not rested in Him.

Children know only to trust their father, and therefore are able to live knowing they are free to live in his love and care for them.

It may take many of us a lifetime to wholly become who Christ enabled us to be, beloved children of God, who freely trust our Father's love and care for us.

Jesus, forgive us for all the ways we simply don't trust the fullness of all You accomplished for us, and therefore do not enter in to the rest You provide. Touch us deeply in those places in us that need Your rest, and let us wholly enter in today. Help our eyes move away from anything that keeps our hearts from looking to You, alone for our rest. Sometimes we feel the weight of the mountain of who we are and God lets us feel it, knowing we CAN'T move it.

He does this so that we might recognize Him, and invite ourselves back to Him, the only One Who can.

We were never made to move mountains, but to rest our faith in the One Who made every mountain, and is able to not only move them, but to use them to strengthen our hearts and lives in Him.

"...on this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided." Genesis 22:14

When God takes us to the mountain where there is no provision, it might be that He is inviting us into a Revelation of who He is as, Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides.

Don't fear the mountains, they are often God's greatest invitations into higher levels of His love and presence than we have ever experienced before.

Many of us spend much of our lives either marching around or wearing out climbing the same mountain.

"When he heard this, he became very sorrowful for he was very rich" Luke 18:23

Am I merely a ,"conscious human being before Him?" I remember when I was. The moment I recognized the whole truth about myself, that I am wholly wrong, yet there stood before me a Holy God willing to recieve me and regenerate me into His likeness.

Then, as I began to follow Him, it became so easy to love everything about Him, often at the neglect of Him.

I can liken it to going to the grocery store. What I need is food, yet it is so easy to get lost in all the options, and distracted by all the choices that I miss what my body needs most, nutrition.

Here in America, its very easy to pseudo follow Jesus. And when we do, we get discouraged because our soul does not get what it craves most, Jesus Himself.

We can get so caught up in experiencing Him in one certain way that we miss who He truly is, and forsake where He wants to take us.

My heart breaks when I consider all the body of Christ is missing out on because we are out playing chase, and blaming Jesus for why He is not showing up, when He's been here the whole time.

We are His temple, His dwelling place, Oh, that we might simply stand still, humbly in His Presence and let Him be exalted in us.

The whole world longs to see what Jesus looks like in us, how I pray we can show them.

Jesus, forgive us when we make our relationship with You about us, and we insist on coming for You according to our ways, instead of Your prescribed Way, letting You come for us, because we need You. Forgive us for thinking we have anything to offer You save our sin and our great need for You. Help us forsake our ways that we might truly follow You Who IS our Way. Amen.

Just because we can't SEE does not mean we cannot SEEK.

For those of us who know God, we often feel like we are reaching through the dark to lay hold of Him, and perhaps we are.

We often get thrown off by the darkness that surrounds, which leads us to not always remember the power of the Light within.

Jesus let His heart and body be broken outside, in the darkness, so that He might offer His Light, to the inside of us.

By nature, a seed, mixed in the right soil, becomes something altogether different as the life inside it responds the light outside it. The seed knows nothing, but to break in the darkness, and allow the life to continue extending upward as it responds to the light outside it, all the while becoming a brand new creation. A creation that is no longer hard, and immovable, but alive, as it coexist with the light it has been responding to.

Just as a plant becomes one with the light and water it takes in, so we allow ourselves to become One with the Light of the world, and Living Water, JESUS.

And just as a seed does nothing but respond to that which, by nature, it was designed to.

So we, as Christians, can do nothing, but rest our hearts in Him who is causing us to become all He designed us to be.

Faith is our response to God's process. He planted us in Christ and He will surely make us grow and become fruitful as we continue to rest our souls in His Light and Love.

Only seeds left unplanted still worry about their shell. If you are planting in Christ, He gives us divine imperative to rest in Him, and let ourselves become who we can be, only in Him.

"Do you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." Galatians 6:19-20

God promised David way back in the Old Testament that He would build His temple through David, and as a Father, He would discipline us when we sin. And no matter what, His kingdom would never end, and never fail, but stand secure in His love.

God is promising in these verses a sure place to stand for His children, not in an earthly kingdom, but in a Father's love. The kingdom is built not with bricks and mortar, but through His Holy Spirit moving upon human hearts.

Both corporately and individually, He is shaping us to become a glorious place, a place for His own Presence to dwell for all eternity.

We are wise to set our hearts and eyes not to the kingdoms of this world, but to the One that will stand eternally, the one for whom we are made and by whose Spirit we find our home.

Only God can take a bunch of earthly stones, and by His Spirit, knit them as One, into a kingdom that will remain forever. Those of us who are His know what it is to meet another stone, for we instantly recognize our Father's heart within them, and this is how we are One, even when we may be physically separate. Through Christ, we all have the opportunity to come home and become so much more than we could ever hope to be, both in this world and in eternity.

We often forget that to remove the Cross is to remove the Crown.

Does not God meet us most in our moments of greatest fear, exhaustion, confusion, pain, sorrow, and loneliness?

When we feel most alone and alienated in this world is when we are truly closest to discovering Him Who is our Door to the world we were truly made for.

It is painful to witness one we love suffer, and there is needless suffering, however we are wise to consider those moments when we find one alone in the wilderness, yet see the cloud of His Presence amidst, to leave that one alone until, they too, witness Him for themselves.

The most painful thing is to watch someone who will not notice the cloud of God in their midst, for it is almost as if the suffering is of no purpose.
Yet more painfil still is the one who cannot notice the cloud because those around them keep their eyes looking in the wrong direction. They stay so fixed on the horizontal that they are never forced to reckon with the vertical.

There are times God allows each of us to choose whether we will stay wilderness wanderers or become transformed by His Presence within the cloud. The cloud is terrifying, because in it, we know we can't SEE and are forced to trust alone in the One who can.

Our faith comes real and alive in the cloud.

It is a personal, and private transaction that must happen between the heart of God and his child alone. We are invited up, yet we often will not discover the invitation until we are brought very low, into those moments when all we see before us is a Cross. Yet as we can look up, we see the cloud, and know Christ is with us, and has crowned us with all we need to move forward in His glory.

What a wonder, that Christ bore our curse on a tree, and in so doing, made Himself One with us.

The barrier that held Him from us, our sinful, cursed flesh, He removed once and for all. And in so doing, made His Life, Spirit and Oneness available to all who are willing.

Like a Door, He hung, making a Way for each one of us to walk from a sin cursed world right into right standing in the Kingdom of God.

Life or Death, blessing or curse, futility or eternity; all hinge upon whether one will walk through the Door and be made new by the Blood of the Lamb.

We hang in the balance in a world between feeling we have everything to prove, or resting in the One Who gave everything so that there is nothing left to prove.

Pride rejects the Cross because it convinces us to protect self at all cost.

Grace embraces the Cross because in it, we find not only Christ, but our truest self.

Who we are in Jesus is who we truly are. One with Him, no longer bound to the laws of sin or this world, but held together by grace in the perfect love of God.

Each day we wake up with two options, we can stay in the earthy realm, dealing with earthly problems, relying on fleshly strength, and experiencing the weight of it all.

Or, we can enter our Father's house, know that we are children of God, living in the realm of heaven, even as we are on earth. We can be assured that every obstacle in our path is one we can encounter and conquer through our Father's strength as we continually entrust our lives and journey to Him, knowing He already bore the weight of it all.

We can be about our business or about our Father's business.

Our choice indicates who is truly lord over our lives. It is the power of God that enables us to suddenly see our lives with new eyes and to understand that each facet around us is placed there by our Father working within us.

What a wonder to realize that every encounter we face is an opportunity to encounter our Father, our Maker, our LORD.

Life becomes one big adventure as we realize this, and as we suddenly are bathed in awareness that, "being about our Father's business," is not a burdensome weight to bear, but an ever increasing adventure in understanding the weight that He already bore to carry us.

"The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made with human hands..." Acts 17: 24

"..In him we live and move and have our being, ' as even some of your own poets have said, "For we are indeed his offspring. " Acts 17:28

I burst into tears as my eyes fell on these words anew this morning, "For nothing will be impossible with God." Luke 1:37

How my heart longs for remember this one simple truth; that when Jesus is here, anything is possible and nothing is impossible.

There are moments in our lives and in history when darkness seems to pick a fight with Light, just to see if Light has given up shining.

Darkness had surely come, or so it seemed, for God's people. After four hundred years of not hearing God's voice, how hard must it have been to still believe that He was REAL, that He was still had a PLAN, that He CARED.

And suddenly, in a moment, He comes, not only announcing good news, but bringing His announcement in such a way that it aligns with His character, "He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of humble estate; He has filled the hungry with good things." Luke 1:52-53.

Like me does your heart need reminding that, "..nothing will be impossible with God?"

If so, take courage from a young woman who, when confronted in her darkness with a chance to carry the Light, simply responded, "...let it be to me according to Your Word."

Truly, anything is possible and nothing is impossible when we let Jesus be born in and through us.

He is REAL, He still has a PLAN, and He CARES.

And His LIGHT is ready to be born and displayed in you and me today.

"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you." Luke 1:35

Come, be born in us today, Jesus, our Light of the world.

There is such peace that comes once we finally remember Whose hands we truly are in, and rest in them.

No more struggling over how, when, and who. Only a surrendered soul, resting in the Hands of the One Who is the answer to all of our questions.

An arrow rests upon the shoulder of a warrior until he is ready to is ready to pluck it from his quiver, place it in his bow, and sent it soaring into it's intended target.

We are surely God's arrows, His children, whom He has chosen to rest in Him, to trust in Him, and to be used by His mighty hand for His intended targets.

An arrow outside of a warrior's hands is useless, and our lives outside our Father's hands are useless.

We so often wish to be the warrior instead of the arrow.

What a beautiful moment it is when Christ takes one surrendered arrow to pierce through darkness, He opens up a window straight into heaven, by which we are able to see His glorious face.

Oh, how our needs more arrows.

What if realizing how much we need one another is part of wedding preparation?

"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure"- for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints." Revelation 19:6-8

Until this morning, I never caught that within Revelation 19:8, is a hidden clue about how we, the Bride, are to prepare for our wedding day.

Notice that when it refers to the white linen we are to be wearing, it is referenced in the singular form, however our deeds are plural.

Hidden within these words that were proclaimed by a voice described as, "what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and the sound of mighty peals of thunder," (Revelation 19:6), is a devine hint, perhaps a prophetic clue as to how we are dress ourselves for this occasion.

We, the Bride, are one (see John 17), however our righteous deeds are as countless as the stars.

One day, perhaps sooner than we realize, we will each stand before our Bride Groom, Jesus, and although our deeds will have been separate, they will have each been woven together to create a wedding gown that only God can make.

We are wise to recognize our Oneness with Christ here and now, and allow our future reality to shape our current vision and choices.

I find it beautiful and fascinating the way God sees us as One Bride, strung together through One Faith, in One Perfect Savior.

And not only that, He has chosen to allow all we accomplish through that One faith in Christ to be interwoven with the moment our faith becomes our sight, the moment all we seek to become meets the reality of our becoming, our wedding day to Christ Jesus.

O LORD, help me never divorce what You are doing through me from who You have called me to do it beside. Thank-You for truly making us One in Your name, and for Your glory. Help us realize both our contribution to Your body, as well as our need for Your body. Amen.

In light of my last post, I was challenged to be vulnerable about my "ways" in which I struggle to allow Jesus to help me become all He knows I am.

Right now I am dealing with the last remnants of a very long health battle, one from which I was not sure I would survive or not.

By God's grace, I am still here and doing miraculously well, however I developed some "frumpy" ways during my health battle.

There are things you let slide when you are fighting for your life, and then once you come out on the other side, its all so overwhelming.

On top of that, there is a whole new perspective on life, on Christ, and on how just how quick, and silly life here really is and it seems that all I truly wish to do is share all I learned in the valley of the shadow with those around me.

Anyway, it has and is becoming so hard to balance the profound with the practical.

And as much as I love the profound, I know the excellence of Christ is every bit as much about the practical.

So, I am praying about my ways, and submitting them to Christ in hopes that He will lead me to perfect balance, as only He can.

What about you? What are some of your "ways" that He is challenging you in right now?

Somewhere along the way, my fears over not being the perfect wife, mom, servant, or friend became overshadowed by a greater fear, that of arriving to heaven half-baked

Somehow, in seeking to become all Christ says I am, I have become a better wife, mom, servant, and friend.

Yet, there is so much more.

In knowing Christ, we are allowed to know our highest self, and invited to become him/her in His Presence.

The choice is always there; will we accept the invitation?

Oh, how often my heart breaks as I acknowledge my own propensity to choose where I am over where He beckons me.

I am here, now, in a million strung together moment of decision where I must either become who He says I am or risk arriving to heaven half-baked.

Jesus, help my desire to become all You say I am become greater than my desire to stay the same. Thank You for these moments of confrontation, where we are reminded that You have chosen more for us. Amen.

The ability to see ourselves and others through the GRACE of GOD is an outright miracle.

We see the depravity of man, yet in our hearts, know the inner hope that exits for every man through knowing the grace of Christ.

Because of Whose we are, we can never look at another without knowing the infinite possibility that exist within each human soul.

Like little children walking through a storm, we know the rainbow is coming and our hearts are too busy seeking it out to notice the thunder and lighting all around us.

Grace changes everything and leaves every single human encounter we engage in pregnant with the hope of new Life springing right up from the most barren soul.

This is why we have every reason to hope as we set every expectation, not on the flesh of men, but on the grace of God that may implode within our interactions with human hearts.

We are like hounds of heaven, searching and seeking for a heart that is ready to come to life within the perfect grace of Christ.

What an exciting existence we get to experience!

Jesus, help us see others through Your eyes of grace and be willing to help them see themselves that way too. Thank You for the Cross, through which we are held secure in Your grace. Amen.

What does it look like to trust in God's Sovereignty, even when your enemies are constantly pursuing you?

David gives us an awesome example in his encounters with Saul (see 1 Samuel 25-26).

Even when constantly threatened and attacked, he continued to trust God.

And even when he was given opportunity to slay his enemy, he did not, but continued to wait upon the LORD's vindication.

We are living under constant attack and the temptation is to vindicate ourselves. Yet, what if Jesus is watching and waiting to see who will trust Him? Who will wait upon Him to see Him move on our behalf?

This doesn't mean we don't stand in victory but it does mean that when we move towards victory, it is from the Spirit empowered, clearly directed, unmistakable, infallible, and undefeatable leading of the LORD.

Many of us are so quick to respond to the flesh from the flesh, and there will never be a victory in that.

Jesus, teach us to truly trust in You, wait on You, and BELIEVE You as we face those who are opposed to You. Forgive us for all the times we believe we can fight Your battles better than You can. Amen.

When i needed healing from my abortions, I was so blessed that God provided a recovery class right at my home church, yet not everyone is able to have that offered to them and they don't know where to go for healing.

Many are too afraid to ask their church or close friends for help or direction.

This healing conference offers anyone who has been impacted by abortion the chance to receive counsel, training and healing resources, as well as yo hear the testimonies of many women who have been healed (like mine).

Does your church or community have a place for those who need healing to turn?

Please consider sharing this FREE event with them.

Although the conference begins this weekend, the link will stay active for 90 days after the conference.

Blessings,

We so easily allow our earthly values of accomplishment block our view from seeing all God is accomplishing in us.

Our goal is production.

His goal is to see His Son produced in our lives.

"Christ in you, the hope of glory..." Colossians 1:27

Our eyes and hearts think, "God's goal is for me to make it to the otherside, yet I am perishing"

Then we see Jesus walking on top of the waves that are taking us under and realize that God's goal may be altogether different than what we first imagined.

"Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid." Mark 6:50

Faith in His Son IS God's goal for us, and God will often engineers our circumstances to allow us to SEE that what He is after in us lies in stark contrast to what we believe He requires from us.

And we are faced with the most humbling realization, that we have NOTHING to offer God, save faith in His Son.

Jesus, help us SEE You today, and SEE the truth about ourselves that WE NEED YOU, and stand no chance of making it across these troubling times save faith in You. Thank You for already securing our safe delivery to the other side. Amen.

We can defend ourselves, or we can truly BELIEVE that the LORD is our defense.

Our greatest indicator of whether we truly honor Him as our LORD is how we respond to those who threaten us, who are over us, who oppose us and whose authority we cannot come out from under.

Can we trust Him as our LORD, even when we are attacked?

Perhaps, He allows such circumstances to occur so that He might find out the truth of who we really are.

Or so that we might discover the truth of who we really are, and let it break our hearts, and turn in repentance to the only One who can change us.

We are living in tumultuous times.
In the end, we will all stand before Christ, our LORD, and we will know the Truth, that He has never forsaken us, yet we so often have forsaken Him by not trusting Him as LORD over our lives.

Oh, what ceaseless ways we wander
Seeking shelter on our own
All the while, He beckons
"My child, come home, come home."

The word, Kiddush, in Hebrew is a wedding term. It means sanctification, or set-apart. It refers to the moment the bridegroom asks the bride if she will drink from his cup, and in a sense, he is asking her, "will you be sanctified (or set apart) to me?"
If she drinks, she becomes his, and even though in ancient Hebrew times, the groom would depart for a long period of time to go and prepare a home for his bride, the bride was, from that moment on, legally and spiritually one with her groom.

As it is with the bride, so it is with us, the Bride of Christ. When we became One with Christ, we became sanctified to Him, set apart in holy union to Him.

What God has joined together, let no man take apart.

To the degree that we truly believe we are One with Christ, we will live as we are.

There is no doubt that Jesus believed fully in His oneness with us, for He drank fully of our wrath in order to secure our Oneness with Him.

Our wrath was real to Him.
Will we let His holiness be real to us?

The question remains, will we drink fully of His holiness? Will we truly say back to Him, "yes, I am Yours, to have and to hold, from this day forward..."

Wow, I found these notes written in my Bible this morning ...goes right along with my prior post!

God is our Light shining in the darkness, will we let Him shine in us?

The scriptures I attached these notes to are John 9:40-41

"The Pharisees who were standing there heard him and asked, "Are you saying we are blind?"
"If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied, "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see."

Oh LORD, help us be humble enough to admit when we can't SEE, help us SEE You, and let Your guiding Presence be all the Sight we need. Thank You for being our literal Light in this present darkness, Jesus. Amen

I sense this very thing happening in our world right now.

We watch as the world becomes darker and darker around us, almost like a divine invitation beckoning us to acknowledge the TRUTH of who we really are.

We hate the darkness because it represents all our greatest fears coming towards us. Like a bully, it beckons us ,"come out and show me who you really are."

Darkness either overtakes us so we cannot see, or it forces us to embrace the LIGHT that Christ has already given us, and shine as we never have before. And in so doing, we get to discover the Truth of who we've always been, yet never believed ourselves to be.

"...Christ in you, the hope of glory. " Colossians 1:27

God does not fear our darknes because He knows He already overcame it.

There is but one thing left, and that is, will believe Him?

Our response to the darkness will show us the truth of wbo we really believe God to be, and who we believe Him to be.

"Come out of hiding, you're safe here with Me, there's no need to cover what I already see." Out of Hiding, Steffany Gretzinger

The enemy feeds on what we withhold from God. I didn't realize how true this was until Jesus finally gave me the courage to confront my most hidden sins of my three abortions.

The world has made the word, "abortion" to be a polical hot button, however for those of us who have chosen abortion, it represents so much more. For me, it conjured up reminders of my greatest shame and the place in my heart I wanted to bury down the deepest.

One of the kindest things Jesus ever did for me was to reach down into my heart and ask my permission to roll away the stone from my heart that kept me from fully understanding the fullness of what Jesus did at the Cross.

The Cross becomes most Real when it becomes most personal.

Please join myself and so many others as we invite the world into a place of healing from abortion.

"I've loved you before you knew it was love, I saw it all, and still chose the Cross. There's no need to stand at a distance anymore. You're not far from home."- Out of Hiding.

"You are from below: I am from above. You are of this world; I am not. That is why I said that you will die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am who you say I am, you will die in your sins." -Jesus (John 8:23-24)

Right now, there is still a chance to believe Jesus and, in so doing, be delivered from this world that is perishing.

When a boat is sinking, it no longer matters what people's opinions are about how or why the boat is sinking. There is only but one action, and that is to place our bodies into the lifeboats that are offered to us, and if possible, help as many along with us into those lifeboats as well.

This world is perishing. So many eyes are blind to Life boat God has extended to us.
Let us not go down with the boat as we argue and fuss over whose fault it is for the sinking, but let us be thankful for God's teaching down and offering us His own salvation through believing on Christ.

Time is short, its time to be about our Father's business, and that is spreading the Hope of Jesus to all who will come and be saved from this perishing world.

Sin sinks us.
Life lifts us.
Jesus alone, held the tension between the two
While He endured every sin to sink upon Him,
He secured every life to be lifted in Him.
He, alone, is our Boat upon which every heart can arrive safe and sound above this sinking world.

Thank-You, Jesus, for coming for us to offer an escape from this perishing world. Help us reach out to others as You have reached out to us, to offer Your Life to those who are perishing. Help us lift You up as You draw all men to Yourself. Amen.

How different could our lives be if we truly believed that we are FULLY encapsulated in our Father's LOVE?

Then we would KNOW that NOTHING that filters through our lives without first touching HIM.

It would mean that Jesus truly IS in us and around us, working all things for good, according to HIS HOLY KNOWLEDGE of good, not ours.

What could happen when we truly stop being the artist of our own lives and instead pass off the paint brush to our Maker?

Oh, what kind of masterpiece could He paint in and through us? It would be a work worthy of hanging in the halls of heaven.

How we limit our Maker by believing we might paint a better portrait of our lives than He can.

May we release ourselves fully into His hands and watch with expectancy as He turns, even our darkest moments, into a gallery worthy of bearing His name.

July 16, 2020

As I began praying this morning, in my heart I could see a great field before me, and I knew that it was full of land mines, they were covered with dust, yet I could see Jesus Breathing on the dust so all the landmines were uncovered, and all the sudden I could see a trail open up before me. I could hear His Voice over me saying joyfully, "come on, let's head to the house of the LORD." (Palm 122:1).
The scriptures came alive in my heart, "Your Word is a lamp unto your feet and a light to my path," Psalm 119:105, and "And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace." Ephesians 6:15. I knew it was so important to measure each step and to keep extra mindful of every move I was making, and not to look up too far ahead as I might miss the Way before me. "..Walk before Me and be blameless" Genesis 17:1. "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. " Galatians 5:16.
I knew Jesus was and is forging a trail before me, a trail of faith in His Word, and it was and is imperative that I listen for every step. And the trail was and is leaving goodness and mercy behind, for others to find and experience His Light in. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Psalm 23:6. This is a time for wisdom over each step, a joyful time where we can KNOW we are heading to the LORD's house, even as we walk through a field of landmines. He IS with us, He never fails to be our Most Faithful Shepherd.

Jesus, thank You for giving us Your Word and Your Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us to You. Thank You for not leaving us as orphans, but for coming for us and walking beside us as we stand before the world's field of landmines. Thank You for ever being our Good Shepherd Who guides us through every moment we face. Amen.

"The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things." Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am he." John 4:25-26

C.S. Lewis in his beloved book, Screwtape letters, describes the enemy's kingdom as, "the Kingdom of Noise."

As we look about our world today, it's obvious which kingdom is fighting real Truth, and it can appear to be winning.

The same way it appeared to have won when Jesus breathed His last on the Cross.

Yet, there is another Kingdom here and it moves, not in the noise, but in the hearts of men-in the hearts of you and me.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1.

"My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. Then Pilate said to him, "so you are a king? Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this purposeI was born and for this purpose I have come into the world-to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice" John 18:36-37

These are very LOUD times. The kingdom of noise is after one thing-our hearts knowing Truth.

Loudness is no substitute for TRUTH.

Jesus is here, inviting many to know Him, and all who do, will know the difference between volume and true authority that only comes with KNOWING Truth, Himself, Jesus Christ.

There comes a time when each of us must decide to kick out every other voice about ourselves that doesn't line up with who God says we are.

Two questions that I ask God daily and that have saved my life are:

1. Jesus, can You show me the TRUTH about myself?

2. Jesus, can You show me the TRUTH about You?

And I listen and respond to His Word about me.

Can we turn down the volume of all the noise Going on around us?

Probably not, yet we can turn that volume down in our hearts as we tune into God's Voice of Truth over our lives and decide to believe and trust Him alone and begin truly letting Him rule in and through us.

"You cannot imitate the nature of Jesus-it is either in you or it is not." Oswald Chambers.

Oh, once we see the truth about our true nature, we shall see how far we have yet to go. Yet, our faithful LORD ever leads us upward, through challenges and struggles, we ever become who He is causing us to be.

One day soon we will look over our earthly pilgrimage with Christ beside us, and we will SEE how utterly without hope we were, save each moment we acknowledged our LORD and He ever came for us.

And we will surely say, "never once was I forsaken. Surely God was in this place and I did not know it."

How lost we become when we fail to see.
His ever reaching arms, stretched out for me.
How easy it becomes to lose our place,
And forfeit our chance to finish our race.
Yet, He beside me, gently whispers my name,
And I remember at once, I've His glory to gain.
As I rise to run, with new vision before me,
I can hardly wait to go tell His Story.

How does God do surgery on our hearts? Could it be that all the surgical masks we are seeing around us, and the need for a sterile environment are signs of something greater Jesus is doing in us?

Could it be that God is using what the enemy meant for evil for good in the body of Christ?

We believed this to be our year of perfect vision, 2020, yet only God can truly heal our eyes so that we might SEE.

Perhaps, in the midst of a world in chaos and darkness, our Father, with the most skillful Hands, is providing each one of us the opportunity to have anything removed that keeps us from perfect relationship with Himself.

Until He alone BECOMES our VISION, it will never be perfect.

Jesus, don't stop Your divine surgery on each of our hearts until our hearts fully see You, and as we do, we will become the pure Bride, worthy of all You paid for at the Cross. Amen.

Could it be that the enemy, knowing his time is short, and the potency of the Gospel we carry within us, seeks to seclude us from sharing it, withdraw us and make us into self-protective little islands to ourselves rather than the Brightly Shining Bride of Christ?
Let us not be unprepared virgins during this last hour (Matthew 25:1-13), but let us keep our lamps trimmed that Christ might use us to Shine His Light for many to see and know the way home.

Jesus, let us shine brightly for You, and stay fully awake in You as You shine through us. AMEN.

When was Satan cast from heaven? The moment Jesus fulfilled His covenant to save you and me.
Before that, the enemy was granted access to God's throne to constantly accuse us before God.

Can you imagine a Loving Father having to constantly listen to every accusation over each one of his wayward child's life?
How heartbreaking.

What a glorious moment it was when He saw us each REDEEMED, completely FREE from ALL accusations!

No wonder He lets the angels dance around the throne each time one of us comes home!

Christ complete removal of all accusations over us became REAL at the Cross.
Our sins no longer exist in heaven for one reason, because Christ carried each one of them in His own body and did away with them once and for all.

The moment the accusations stopped in heaven, they accelerated here down on earth.
For the enemy knows that we don't fully know or believe the fullness of what Christ accomplished on our behalf.

His ultimate goal?

Keep us from God, our Father, so we can go down with Him, and like him, have no place to stand in heaven

Truth is, you and I are perfectly clean in God's sight because of what Christ did on our behalf.
Yet, many will never know because we will fall for the schemes of the enemy rather than stand in the truth of God.

But what if we didn't? What if today we begin believing what Jesus did really is true? What if we stopped all accusations and began worshipping God in Spirit and Truth?

Let the angels dance begin!

Jesus, thank You for the truth of what You accomplished at the Cross and how You completely removed every one of our accusations. Help us stand in and for Your truth all the way home. Amen.

"The darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness." 1 John 2:8-9

"And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light " 2 Corinthians 11:14

These are times when we must be discerning. The enemy is using false light in every direction to cause us to turn from one another, in so doing, deny Christ's character within us.

Yet, there is one way that Christ remains true, simple and discernable in this world.

Love.

It should stand out like the brightest star against the gloomiest backdrop of our current world.

GOD IS LOVE.

We can recognize Him when we see His love displayed in this world. How God defines love is so very different from the world's way.

The world says, "agree with our sin or we will hate you."

God says, "let Me die to remove your sin because I love you." (See John 3:16).

There is much false light shining in our world today, men being led by an enemy whose only desire is to lead them to destruction.

Yet, Jesus, our Lamb, is still here, shining His true Light through His Bride. "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35

Bride, let's check our hearts. If we are not able to love the world as Christ does, we have much more to fear than what is happening in the world right now.

Jesus, please forgive us for all the ways we allow ourselves to get caught up in lesser things, instead of keeping our eyes on You, our One True Light. Help us see the truth about ourselves, who we are in Your light instead of judging one another in the lesser light.
We repent, help us repent and be ready to stand before You in Spirit and Truth. Amen.

Feeling like parched ground? Parched ground can do absolutely nothing to change its situation. It lies to give testimony to it's circumstances, a visible sign post that says,
"there is no life here. "

The shriveled up soil is useless.

No one can plant in parched ground.
Without God's mercy, the parched ground will never experience itself, what it was designed to become. It will never know what it is to hold a seed, and to participate with God in the miracle of that seed leaving it's shell to expand into something brand new, a whole new creation that, mingled with the Light and Life of God, is able to offer life to others.

It's God's grace that allows parched ground to become rich soil. It's His grace that allows seeds to fall into the soil, producing food that extend His life to us.

"Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped...For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert."
Isaiah 35:5&6b

There comes a moment when each of us must acknowledge our true state, that we are parched ground, with no ability to change our circumstance.

Oh, the mercy of our Great God, Whose vision over us never changes, and Who, Alone, is able to make our parched souls into a garden for His Own heart to dwell.

Jesus, thank-You for seeing us, even in our parched state and loving us, even when we have nothing to offer You, save our sincere acknowledgment that we really need You. Please send Your rain on our hearts, make us into a garden for Your heart to dwell. Amen.

We can't call ourselves Christians and yet express judgments that exist outside of Christ own.
He, Himself, stayed submitted to His Father's judgment, and it was His Father's judgment that caused Him to go to the Cross and be judged as sin on our behalf.
I am thankful that our Savior, even though He was God, stayed submitted to God in order to be qualified to remove the barrier which keeps us from God, ie, our sin.
When we express fleshly judgments that are not filtered through Christ's Spirit living in us, we are exhibiting the world to the world.
And the world does not need any more world, the world needs Jesus, and He has given us us everything we need to express Who He is to this world.
The world has yet to see the church fully submitted to who Christ says she is, a Bride, fully Ond with Him, fully operating in submission to Him, just as He was to the Father.
When we express ourselves apart from Christ, we are expressing to the world our lack of Oneness with Christ. How heartbreaking this must be to the One Whose heart broke to bring us into Oneness with Himself.

Oh, Jesus, help us SEE the truth about ourselves and move back into full alignment with You. Amen.

Got worry? Or should I ask, do we have reason to worry or reason to fear?

When we look with the eyes of man, we have every reason to squirm about in our own uneasiness, waiting for the darkness to overtake the last bit of light we are standing on.

Yet, when we look into the face of Jesus, we can't help but arise and walk out from our self appointed tombs as His Light victoriously and consistently overcomes any darkness and fear we face.

When our eyes are on us, we have every reason to fear, to self protect, to isolate and lash out at anyone who dares drag us from our self appointed sovereignty over our fleshy fears.

Yet, when our eyes are on Him, we have every reason to hope, to live in freedom to look around and look up. We get to stop self guarding all the time and we get to see and to love. We know His eyes are on those things which concern us, and this frees us to believe His plans are still good, despite what we see with our eyes.

Worry is an indication that we have set our eyes on the wrong face.
It takes some audacity to look into the face of the One who overcame every darkness we will ever face in this world and still not trust Him.

Jesus, we ask for Your help to set our eyes on You alone. We repent from worrying and ask that You will set our eyrs wholly and Holy upon You alone. Amen.

"But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of sun or of moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is the light." Revelation 21:22-23

One day soon we will walk in the REAL that we sometimes must press so hard to enter into.

The closer we come, the harder the press seems to feel. Almost like a young oak, trying to burst through that final tough layer of rough top soil, we feel the pressing, and sometimes it feels as if its us causing the pressure.

Yet, it isn't.

It's just Jesus.

He alone, expressing Himself through us, in us, until He breaks through us, and we break through all the unreal and become His expression of glory in this world.

We may see, hear, and experience the world, but only He bore the weight of it.

Just Jesus.

One day soon, we will walk into the REAL, where even the air we breathe, the light by which we see, and the worship by which our hearts come fully alive will reach full expression.

We will experience then the beautiful simplicity of what it is to have no more unreal to press through.

Just Jesus.

Oh, what a glorious future awaits us.

Jesus, help us press on to keep our lives simply about You. Amen.

Fear-false evidence appearing real.

There is lots of reasons to fear, there always has been. There always will be.

I use to have a saying I would tell myself to help keep my priorities straight. I would say, "Rhonda, keep your loves in order and all else will be in order.,"

I find myself these days saying the same thing, but replacing the word "fear", as I have struggled lately with letting fear keep me from always having my loves in order.

So, now I am saying, "Rhonda, keep your fears in order and then all your loves will be in order."

It's amazing how quickly fear can come in between love.

Yet God offers us an escape from fear. He doesn't blindly say, "don't be afraid."

He offers us a greater fear than those things we are afraid of.

He says, "fear Me, I Am greater than anything you could ever face and I Am for you."

God never asks us to not be afraid, He asks us to trust Him in the midst of our fear and believe that He is truly with us.

He did this with Moses when He called Him to go deliver His people.

He did this when He sent Joshua to go conquer the land.

He did this with us when He promised He would send our Helper who would be with us and us.

Over and over in the bible, God uses circumstances around us that illicit fear to demonstrate the truth about where our hearts really are.

Do we truly trust God, or not?

When our greater fear is God, we may be shaking in our boots, but we are going forward.

Jesus, help us keep our fears in order and keep Fear of You as our top fear so that the fears of this world will not be a snare to us. Thank You for standing with us in the midst of such fearful times. When we stand before You, surely we will say, "never once were we forsaken." We love You, amen.

Jesus, help us keep our fears in order and keep Fear of You as our top fear so that the fears of this world will not be a snare to us. Thank You for standing with us in the midst of such fearful times. When we stand before You, surely we will say, "never once were we forsaken." We love You, amen.

Two things that make a follower of Jesus different in this world.

Jesus is truly thier first love. And not only that, but His love drives His person.

Which leads to the second thing that makes the follower different in this world, His love drives the Way inside His beloved.

While the rest of the world is ascribing to man made ways of being and doing, or even feeling, a follower of Christ looks completely different.

They are moved by one thing only, an abiding love relationship with Jesus, Himself.

While the rest of the world is moving towards the world's systems and goals, the follower of Christ is experiencing the wonder of being caught up in the most extravagant, ever expanding, ever fulfilling adventure ever, that of being a living vessel of Christ's love.

The world seeks to carve out a path, find love, and leave legacy.

The follower of Christ is abiding in a Living Way that accomplishes all of the above, but yet seeks none of it.

I'm simply loving Jesus with all our heart, we gain all ours and so much more.

This is the face behind the mess. I realize many may not know me in person.
My name is Rhonda and I'm a wife, mom, former elementary school counselor. I fell in love with Jesus and the Bible when I realized what a perfect mess I was at age thirty. I was going through a divorce and pregnant with my second child. All my life choices up had culminated into one heaping mess and a moment when I realized there was no one left to blame but myself.
It was such a relief to finally admit that I was lost, didn't have the answers and didn't even have the strength to seek them anymore.
I love Jesus and believe in Him because He's the God Who comes for us in THOSE moments.
I pray that I can stay in THAT rest, the rest that KNOWS its okay to be me because He is my Savior and my LORD. And He came for me, knowing He would find me right in my biggest mess.
I trust Him because as I've come to walk with Him over these past 18 years, I have understood more and more what it means that His perfect love casts out all fear.
He became a Perfect Mess on my behalf (and yours), knowing in advance that all He would get in return was a chance that this perfect mess might recognize Him, and one day want to be made clean in His love.
I have so far to go, but I am so thankful for Jesus and for each of you who, like me, have decided to exchange your perfect mess for the one Who became a Perfect Mess on our behalf. I can't wait to give you all a hug and high five at THE FINISH LINE.

Today's lesson went great! It was a blessing to finally admit that I am afraid, and to experience Christ's power comes when we finally surrender our fears for loved ones to Him.

How dare we ever lesson the grip by which has snatched us straight from hell?
To lesson the grip is to let others slip through Christ's nail scarred hands.
I am a hell bound sinner, bent on destroying myself and everyone around me save Christ's Grace upon my life.
I need His grace as much as the air I breathe.
I need His grace every second.
I need His grace over every one of my thoughts.
I am a perfect mess save the One Who made Himself a Perfect Mess on my behalf.
We all need Jesus' grace over our lives.
It's our one true equalizer and in the end, it will be the only thing that distinguishes us from one another.
There will be those who SAW their need for His grace and received it.
And those who SAW their need for it, but instead of receiving it, spent their lives trying to justify themselves before men and God.
One day we will each stand before the One Who became a Perfect Mess on each of our behalf and there will be no more justifying on that day.
We will gaze upon the eyes of the One whom we have pierced, and we will know as we have been fully known.
There will be no more words, just an acknowledgment that He is altogether Right and it's been His grace that has ever caused any of us to stand.
Jesus, help our brothers and sisters who are loosening the grip to SEE and REPENT, and RETURN to Your Grace Alone. Amen.

Jesus is always asking each of us for a drink from a well He knows we only have access to through Him.
Our response to His asking tells us the truth about how we see ourselves and Him.
Some of us, believing we are amply supplied with water, offer Him freely from our overabundance of what we have determined He is seeking.
Others of us, like the woman at the well, toss back a resentful statement for His asking.
We have accepted our identity and resent any confrontation that demands we adjust who we are for another.
What a gift we receive when we allow ourselves the chance to SEE who we are through His eyes.
For the first group, the truth that we can freely admit we have nothing to offer God, save that which He offers us. We are free to stop performing every time someone asks us for a drink of Him.
For the second group, we are free to SEE ourselves as Jesus does, to rest in the refreshing reality that He makes our past, present, and future an ever springing up life before us, free from boxes that others have tried to shove us into. In His eyes, we get to become whole new creations, living from His definition of who we are, which is good, whole, holy and right.
Jesus asks us for what He knows He alone can provide us, and in His asking, He is inviting us into the abundant, ever refreshing life that springs up from being vitally connected to Him.
Jesus, help us let go of ourselves, and jump into the wellspring with You. Amen

"The bride will go where the bridegroom is." John 3:29
"Those who believe in Him discover that God is true." John 3:33

One moment can chance everything.
One moment, we are ours and the whole universe seems to be shifting beneath our feet.
No certainty.
No lasting peace.
No true hope.
Only a striving, a chasing, and grasping for a million little pieces, in hopes that the chasing keeps us distracted from the gravity of our reality.
This is us before our wedding day.
We strive to become something we can never be.
And then He comes.
And in a moment, we are stirred to faith as we recognize He is everything we are not.
He is certain and true.
He is peace and peaceful.
He is whole and holy.
And as He reaches out His hand, we recognize the question He is asking, "will you marry Me?"
Will you leave your life of striving and enter Mine of standing?
What a gift it is when we say, "yes," and we become the Bride of Christ.

Choosing Life Entry 1

When you choose death, Life stops.  It cannot go on to produce what it is meant to in every aspect of your life.

Death stops, shatters and scatters, giving off a false sense of multiplication which people can mistake for life, but there is no weight to it.

What is more REAL; one-million pieces of glitter or one diamond? Which holds weight and value?
