Introducing Perfect Mess
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (ESV)

Perhaps Jesus has chosen this time to unbind us to so many of the ways we tried to bind ourselves to Him so that He might bind ourselves to Himself alone.
I am finding it very convicting how restless I have been in trying to get to Jesus instead of just allowing myself to rest in Him who came for me.

Psalm 46 reminds us that we have a fortress among us, our LORD Almighty.
This world and all it's kingdoms will crumble and eventually fall, yet God never will.
Could it be that we are now seeing with our eyes just the beginning of the days Jesus spoke about long ago (see Luke 21)?
Great earthquakes, famines, pestilence, terrors and great signs in the heavens...no one would argue that we seeing these things happen during this time.
Jesus told us, "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know the summer is near. So also, when you see these things take place, you know that the kingdom of God is near," Luke 21:29-31.
We can look at events in our world and see them as a mirror of where we, as a world, stand with God.
But a better thing to do might be to take this time to examine your own heart.
Are you ready to stand before God?
He is coming, maybe sooner than we realize.
There is a fortress and a strong tower we can hide in right now, as well as eternally.
It is the Cross of Christ.
He is our righteous and as we place the weight of our lives in Him, we don't have to fear the weight of what's happening in this world.
All the sudden our hearts that were once anxious with fear can, "be silent and know that He is God." Psalm 46:10.
Have you ever asked Jesus to be your Savior? Why not today?

Jesus, help us discover You, our Shepherd, as we never have before. Thank-You for faithfully coming after Your sheep when we are lost, scared, sick, or shaken, or even when we have no idea we need a Shepherd. Thank You for all the ways You care for us, despite us, and how You teach us to walk in righteousness instead of letting us walk in what WE think is right. Thank-You for leading us home, to Your house, where we get to dwell with You forever. Forgive us for all the times we think we know the way better than You do.
Thank You for using this time of illness to heal us in ways we can never heal ourselves. Amen ... See MoreSee Less
Can God heal us? Of course He can, it is the reason He came.
Perhaps a greater question might be, "how does God heal us?" Isaiah 61 proclaims the very same words Jesus spoke to explain His purpose for coming (see Luke 4), "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the LORD has annointed me to bring good news to the poor, he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor..." During His earthly ministry, He extended the power of what He had spoken through healing miracles, as well as many other miracles.
There is more than enough historical evidence to display Jesus can and did heal on earth.
As a woman who was sick for many years and who still struggles with some seemingly permanent (at least on earth) medical issues, I have wrestled with this aspect of Jesus' power probably more than any other.
If He can heal me, why is He is choosing not to?
As a girl who struggled with rejection most of my life, I won't lie, sometimes it has caused me to wonder if God too is rejecting me. After all, He knows me most. He is One I have turned to most during my season of broken dreams. He is the only One I could turn to when my heart was so scared and lost that I could not form prayers, only lay my face in my bible and cry inaudible words and moans. He was my refuge during that time, yet He was also the only One who could change my circumstance. Was He rejecting me by not granting my healing?
The longer I walk down this road with Jesus, the less I tend to worry about my physical healing.
I no longer sling out those hopeful prayers and thrust open each new doctors office door thinking, "this will be the one that gives us our answer!"
Although I still limp along alot of days, I have found a healing, an even greater one, happening in my heart and mind, a heart and mind that are truly set on heaven, on the face of Jesus.
He HAS become my healing!
He has become my Joy!
My prayers now focus on my Healer, not my healing. He has surely brought me an even greater healing than the one I was seeking.

Man, this was too good not to share!
There was one line from yesterday's teaching that rocked me and that goes hand in hand with this, "it's not the worst thing in the world when God begins teaching us how to truly be crucified."
The thought won't leave me that we will soon stand before Him where an examination will take place.
I want Him to examine my heart now!
I want to Jesus to be Real to me and in me now!
Sometimes it begins when I simply say, "I have no idea how to be right with You, but I want to."
I am so tired of justifying myself before Jesus and other people.
If I have am not right before Jesus, how can think I am right before others?
Maybe I don't know the first thing about being holy.
Maybe that's the point.
I need Jesus ALL the time, He's my only shot at rightness or holiness.
"If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:7.
Jesus, help me to walk in Your Light, and that means I must admit that I don't have any light of my own. Help me see the truth about myself all the time, that I am weak, and I need You. And thank You for being strong and allowing me to walk with others in Your Light who are willing to walk in the light and the blood with me. It's a beautiful journey when we walk with You, learning to live move and breath in You, learning to truly be Your Body.

Incase you are wondering right now what God is doing, here it is, He is loving you!
It may feel like everything in our world is pointing in the exact opposite direction to this truth.
Yet, thankfully God is not swayed by feelings.
When it was time for Him to manifest His complete love for us to the fullest extent, He allowed what felt the worst to happen to Him, His own humiliation and death on a Cross, our Cross.
He loved us with an everlasting love then, and He is still loving us now.
When we look at the Cross, we can't help but examine our lives in light of it.
Could it be that even now, admid all the madness around us, God is still drawing us to Himself in ways that feel completely contrary to how we expected?
Sooner than we might know or realize, we will see Him face to face. And in that moment, it won't matter to us how uncomfortable we felt through whatever measures He took to draw us close to His heart. We will only rejoice that we finally released ourselves to the unfailing love that had been drawing to Himself this whole time.
When we lift Jesus up, we come up with Him, and His up is limitless, and everlasting, so much greater than any human feelings can contain.
